Google Finally Discloses that how much they paid the man who bought Google.com

Sanmay Ved had owned the Google.com for few minutes in October 2015. He was later rewarded by Google. However, he didn’t disclosed the exact amount that the Google offered to him. He gave a little hint and said that he got more than $10,000. Google on Thursday finally disclosed that how much they rewarded Sanmay Ved. Google also gave details on bounty offered to others for discovering bugs in Google.
Google's Security Rewards
In Google’s Security Awards 2015 Year in Review post, it mentioned that it first rewarded him with $6,006.13. When the Google came to know that Ved is not interested in keeping the money and would donate it to charity, it gave him twice the amount that he was earlier offered.

Google’s Security Executive, Eduardo Vela Nava wrote in blog that “You may have read about Sanmay Ved, a researcher from who was able to buy google.com for one minute on Google Domains. Our initial financial reward to Sanmay—$ 6,006.13—spelled-out Google, numerically (squint a little and you’ll see it!). We then doubled this amount when Sanmay donated his reward to charity”.
Sanmay Ved purchased Google.com for 12$ and was able to control it for several minutes before Google noticed about the accidental sale of their domain, so after several minutes they cancelled the sale of the domain and he was later refunded $12 that he paid to buy Google.com domain.
In the blog post, Google claims that in the year 2015, it gave more than $2 Million as reward to nearly 300 recipients who took part in its Security Reward Program. The company also gave awards to nearly 700 people. Google further said that the developers and researchers from Great Britain, Poland, Germany, Romania, Israel, US, China, Russia, India to name a few countries were rewarded. Google further said that it had paid nearly $6 Million in awards since the Vulnerability Reward Program’s launch in 2010.
Last year, Google also included Android to its Security Reward Program. The Google’s Security Researcher also added that “We launched our Android VRP in June, and by the end of 2015, we had paid more than $200,000 to researchers for their work, including our largest single payment of $37,500 to an Android security researcher”.
